Hagimit

The scorching sun always drives us to cool places where we can take a plunge. Since I live in Davao, the nearest destination would be Samal Island . Beach again? Not this time. We're heading to Hagimit Falls ! About 2 kilometers away from PeƱaplata Terminal , the site is very accessible via any transportation preferably motorcycles. There are many at the bus terminal and the fare is only minimal. Entrance fee is also minimal, I guess it's P30 now. The place was developed into something like a resort. There are huts for rent. And lately, they offer accommodation. Hagimit is a cascade---composed of a series of small waterfalls. If you want to go to the source, it's only few steps away. I'm not sure though if it's really the source. I don't have any idea if there's another body of water behind the cave. With a little hike, you'll get into a concrete reservoir. Maco Falls

Lush vegetation. Who would've thought that with just few miles away from the town proper of Maco , you can find a place perfect for nature adventure! Unknown to many, even to some locals, an interesting body of water lies within the mountain's lush vegetation. The multi-tiered river that runs through several pool-like rock formation is an interesting place to discover. Added to it is a waterfall with a natural slide. The rock is so smooth that you don't have to worry about your shorts being tattered. Right now, the place is not yet developed for tourists. Only those who know the area can enjoy it. Actually, the place was only suggested to us by a friend upon hearing us talking about our next summer destination. Although it is undoubtedly refreshing, I don't recommend anyone to go there without a guide. At least one of you is recognized by the locals for security reasons.
