Mt. Dulang-Dulang

Image
I never thought that my ascent to the country's highest mountain was something to be followed. And this time, the second highest--- Mt. Dulang-dulang ! Part of Kitanglad Range , this mountain is considered sacred by the natives. It is believed to be inhabited by spiritual beings thus due respect must be rendered by those who want to behold its beauty. Our team was composed of almost the same people. One thing that changed, though, was my travel buddy. Vem was already working in Cebu. Fortunately, I found a new one. Introducing In-in ! Although they are somehow different but both girls love adventures and nature escapade, not to mention that they're both beautiful. Therefore, it's totally not a big deal and I knew that we'll surely gel well. Since it was my second time, I was quite confident of myself. Like my Mt. Apo climb, I never did exercises or any physical preparations, hah a. Although I'm not an athletic person but I can say that my ...

Eden Nature Park

Image
One of Davao's pride when it comes to nature adventure is Eden Park and Resort . Located at Mt. Talomo, Toril , this place is not that hard to travel. In fact, if you don't own a car, you can reach it by riding a sidecar motorcycle. There are many of them waiting at the highway. It was Callbox Davao 2nd Anniversary celebration when I first went there. We stayed overnight at their Campsite . It's an ideal setting for group activities and recreation. We arrived past midday and right after we set up tents and unload our baggage, action immediately started. We had a lot of games and challenges. Group members were randomly selected. Everybody had a great time. By night, after dinner, activities still continued. We had a bonfire and few people were surprisingly put in a hot seat to answer random questions from anybody. I knew I had to save myself...

Mt. Apo

Hailed as the Grandfather of Philippine Mountains , Mt. Apo is a favorite destination among hikers around the world. Despite its elevation, the difficulty level of reaching its peak is considered just above average, 7 out of 9. It would only take 2 days to climb and 1 day to descend depending on the trail you follow. We chose the Kapatagan-Kidapawan traverse trail. I highly recommend it because of the diverse ecological communities and terrestrial formations you can experience along the way. Day 1 We started hiking in a grassland or more like a tallgrass prairie . I was a little bit scared because it was high noon and I heard snakes usually spend the hottest time of the day in bushes or tall grasses. But we were travelling in a group so there's no need to be frightened actually. Few hours later, we entered into a forest. Not exactly a forest. It was like a savanna . Trees are everywhere but widely scattered. Eventually, the canopy became thicker. We were several feet h...
