My Hometown
Asuncion always has a special place in my heart. This is where I was
born and learned the ways of life. Its attractive landscapes always paint a
vivid memory of my childhood and the faces of people around remind me of how
beautiful life is.
The place is primarily agricultural. It produces major crops like rice, corn, banana and more. It is also a Hall of Fame for Cleanest and Greenest Municipality of Davao del Norte. I myself grew up in a farm where there is clean, flowing water and fresh air. I used to play under the sun, chase grasshoppers and climb fruit trees with my brother. Life was simple and fun.
Last time I went home, I strolled around the town using my
father’s bicycle. I visited some of my friends and classmates, and few memorable places.
It was a nice experience.
Right now, the place has undergone a lot of changes. Many ricefields were converted into banana plantations. I can no longer see the
expanse to the horizon. The air is also not that clean anymore, as well as the
water. But still, I love my hometown. It's really hard to forget the
place that made you who you are.
